Keep reading to learn more about what attendees will learn from these seminars.

Progressive Design-Build (CCDC 32)

· What progressive design-build is and why so many Owners are turning to it as a solution to their problems

· Why - despite the name - progressive design-build is a totally different delivery model than traditional design-build

· How the distinct project development and design/construction phases work and the respective roles, responsibilities and risks of each party

· The unique services called for under the progressive design-build model

· The critical importance of the Final Project Proposal, and how it ties into other contract documents like the Owner’s statement of requirements

· Key mechanisms and concepts, including project gates, early works, off-ramps, and more, are implemented in the CCDC 32

Traditional Design-Build (CCDC 14)

· What traditional design-build is and the benefits and challenges of the model, and how to most effectively use the CCDC 14

· The roles, responsibilities and risks of the Owner, Design-Builder, Consultant, payment certifier, other consultants, and the Owner’s Advisor

· Must-know provisions to protect your rights

· Insurance, liability and other key considerations with the design-build model

· Changes introduced in the new CCDC 14

Design-Build Service Agreements (CCDC 15 and 33)

· The different services contemplated by the Design-Builder to Consultant agreement

· How payment functions and the different options and considerations built into the contract

· What flows-down (and what doesn’t) from the prime contracts

· Differences between the traditional (CCDC 15) and progressive (CCDC 33) design-build service agreements

Important Changes from CCDC 2 – 2020

· The important changes first introduced in CCDC 2 – 2020 that are now being incorporated into the CCDC design-build contracts

· What “Ready-for-Takeover” is and why it was created to help both Owners and Contractors

· The role of substantial performance in the contract

· How new and changing prompt payment legislations are addressed by CCDC

· What clauses were relocated to the CCDC Division 01 and the importance of CCDC’s master specification template

These seminars, presented by CCDC document authors, give attendees a unique opportunity to have their questions answered by those who know the contracts best.

By registering for this or any HHCA educational opportunity the attendee agrees to abide by the Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims policy.
